Who We Are
The Fisher's Peak Fire Protection District (FPFPD) is an all volunteer fire and rescue department located in Starkville, CO. Starkville is located 1 mile south of Trinidad, CO. The FPFPD is led by Chief Ben Gladden and protects approximately 18 miles of I-25, the town of Starkville, a section of Hwy 12 and parts of the City of Trinidad, as well as multiple sub divisions around Las Animas County . Our primary fire related calls are for wildland fires. In addition we also provide response to public assists, building inspections, rescue and EMS calls utilizing QRT (Quick Response Team) members.
Members attend regular monthly training and may attend other training opportunities in the area or with other local departments. Our dedicated volunteers spend many sleepless nights protecting the district as well as juggling family life and regular full time employment.
